Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provides guidelines on the type of scaffolding you need for every project and the type of building and/or environment – for example, whether you have uneven ground or limited access. Employers are legally obliged to carry out risk assessments to ensure that everything has been done to help make the site safe for their employees and the public. We can help guide you on the best type of scaffolding and its safe installation.

Important legislation

The Health & Safety at Work Act legislates that employers need to protect themselves (if they are working as self-employed), the welfare of their employees, (to themselves and to each other); of the public and any other users of the site. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 provide essential legislation for any employees that work at a height, to help prevent death and injuries by ensuring that work is properly planned and carried out by suitably trained, competent staff using the correct equipment.
